    Can't Catch a Break

Well, this morning I woke up with some pretty intense pain but after some ice I decided I was "ok" enough to make it to work. After about 2 hours there I decided that the pain was getting bad enough to make me feel ill so I headed home. I iced for awhile and took my pain med and felt better ... so I decided to eat the rest of my sirloin for lunch.

Following lunch I had some steak in my teeth so I brushed and then flossed... and pulled out an old filling. *sigh* Can I not catch a break? So tomorrow I go have the dentist look at it over lunch and see what needs to happen. Argh.

Cardinals Reliever killed in car crash

When I first learned that today's CUBS - CARDS game was postponed I was stunned as it would be a beautiful day for baseball. However, I then learned that the Cards' reliever - Josh Hancock was killed last night in a car accident ... silence. It's so hard to understand how someone can be hurling a fast ball three innings against us yesterday and be gone today.

Give those around you an extra hug. Life can be so unexpected.

    Grays Next Week

    HUGE Grays fan here.
    1. George, don't go!
    2. I hate how they dropped the whole Izzy/daughter story.
    3. Burke is a ... *ahem* Not my favorite.
    4. Meredith has way too much drama.

    TGIF

Went to the doctor yesterday knowing there was something really wrong. I was about to jump out of my skin and was having a serious anxiety attack. I had woken in the night crying, sweating and thinking I was dying. It was really horrible (almost as horrible as what's on TV at 2am *boggle*).

Anyway... I got an appointment with the doc and she has now taken me off the anti-depressant I was on and gave me something additionally to mellow me out. And WOW. No more creepy skin, no more feeling like I'm being strangled, no more feeling like I'm having a heart attack... whew.

And the biggest bonus? Last night I slept. Uninterruped. ALL night - for the first time in over 2 weeks. THAT was blissfull.

Oh, and I came home to TWO puffies! (puffy envelopes) One was a beautiful towel from Shellmarie in WV and the other were goodies all the way from Italy from Raffy! I have some of the best friends in the world. *hugs*

    April 2007

Two new photo galleries have been posted. I've added a gallery in which I'll add photos of blocks I do for Love Quilts (http://www.lovequilts.com) and the children whom they are stitched for. I find this very rewarding and can't believe I haven't done this before. I look forward to signing up for another child soon.

The other gallery is for April 2007. Does anyone check those out each month and if so - do you like them? I haven't had any comments lately on my blog and so I'm wondering if anyone even stops by anymore... *sniffle*

Hope all is well with any of you reading... *hugs*

    Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

What beautiful words and such a comfort to know that as we pass we are being guided by our Heavenly Father. As I lose my grandmother today I know she is now at peace and with my father - and one day we will be reunited as a whole. Blessings.

    Mamma Mia

    I'm getting excited. =)

Tonight I have a ticket to "Mamma Mia" at the Civic Center. I'm in the third row back and can't wait. It's a story about a young woman who is about to be married and wants her dad to be there - only she isn't sure who that is. After looking through her mother's diary she finds 3 different prospects and mails them invitations to the wedding. It's a musical set to music written by the Swedish group "ABBA." I have seen this before with my mom, but tonight it's just me. (Dan's not a big musical kinda guy)

    Blacksburg, VA

My heart aches for all involved in this senseless shooting. How someone can be filled with so much anger and disregard for human life is beyond my comprehension. May the Lord watch over all who have been touched by this senseless act.

    What was THAT?

Tuesday night I headed to bed just fine and then around midnight - it hit. Without going into gross detail let's just say it was lower tummy problems. After 3-4 trips to the main restroom I finally made it back to the bedroom enough to go into our attached bathroom and laid down on the floor calling for Dan. I had a subnormal temp, clammy, sweaty and felt like my stomach was going to burn through. NASTY.

As of last night I'm feeling much better - just tired. However, the extended amount of time in bed sleeping has got my back flared up. Grrr. It's supposed to be alot nicer (in the 60s) this weekend so maybe Dan and I can get out and move a little bit. I have a pretty serious case of cabin fever as well.

Oh, and for you EMS people ... I've added a gallery now to show off my Sent/Received goodies for exchanges. I LOVE exchanges. :)

    Not your typical lunch...

Had a meeting with a co-worker at a south side office today and so he decided that I needed to try an Italian place on the south end for their lunch special. Oh it was yummy! I have 2/3 of it to take home tonight for a possible dinner. Dan might be on his own.

The really cool moment, however, is when a gentleman walked in and sat at the table right next to us and smiled, said hello and promptly ordered a soda. It was... Tom Vilsack. Yup, the ex-Iowa governor and the guy who was running for president for awhile. THAT Tom Vilsack. So that was pretty surreal. Nice guy and it appeared he liked the spaghetti.

Starting to feel more and more like summer. Not the best start to the game (currently 1-0 HOU) but it's just wonderful to have the boys of summer back out on the field. Go Cubs Go!

    Happy Easter!

"He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification." Romans 4:25

Here's wishing you all a wonderful Easter - filled with blessings and family.

    May cause drowsiness.

*yawn* Wow, I really dislike medication. I feel like I want to kick back and take a nice long nap and just call it a day. Bah!

    Doctors - Grr.

Well I had a horrible experience with a doc yesterday who talked to just about anyone who called or stopped in during my appt yesterday - other then me. He gave me around 15 mins during the 2 hrs I was in his office. An hour of waiting and then an hour of "catch the doctor." I miss the doctors who really saw you as a person and not just a number. They are so few and far between anymore.

In short, I'm going on medication for inflammation (Celebrex) and pain (Hydrocodone) and some other to help with the depression I'm experiencing due to pain. It's hard to acknowledge that I AM depressed - as my life is SO wonderful in all other ways... but I hope this will help with all the anxiety and frustration that comes with the day in - day out pain. I am being referred to the Mayo Clinic up in MN and will know something within 7-10 working days to see if they'll see me. I really hope they will.

    Stitching - Love Quilts

Oh, and a quick note about stitching - I'm working on my first block for Love Quilts and am getting alot from working on something I find so simple that I know will make such a difference in a little one's life. I'm stitching a Precious Moments pattern for a little girl named Brianna who has a brain tumor. She's not even 2 yrs old and already having a hard time in life.

If you are a stitcher and could donate your time to stitch even just one block for one of these children, please consider doing so. *hugs*

    Opening Day -Baseball!

Well, the cubbies went down in flames on opening day - but they looked pretty decent. Zambrano needed a time out a couple of times but hopefully once he gets over this nerves he'll settle in and we'll have good showings from him in the future. And now they have tomorrow off - what kind of schedule is that? Bah.

As for the back, I'm doing "ok." Had some friends over (and mom!) on saturday night for board game night and snacks and ended up with 9 people showing up. Was a ton of fun and will have to schedule another night soon. It's always great to have friends over to play games.

Dan's home again. He was over skiing in Colorado since wednesday and got home today. He only fell once and he's got a red nose and cheeks from the sun - but I think he had a great time. I had really wanted to go but due to my back I knew I wouldn't enjoy it just yet. Another time.

Lastly, I got a "puffy" today! (meaning a puffy envelope with stitching goodies) Angela sent me the cutest little hummingbird pattern, a Stoney Creek pattern book and some fancy pants cloth. Was an awesome day. *hugs* Thanks lady, that really made me smile.
