    First True Day of PT

It is amazing how much I'm lovin my aquatic physical therapy! Today was my first day but the water takes SO much pressure off my lower back and it was wonderful. When I used the steps to get out of the water I almost turned back around to go back in. I look forward to my next aquatic PT next thursday. I goto "land" therapy on monday so we'll see how that goes.

My 15th High School Class Reunion is this saturday. How has 15 years gone by? Amazing. It will be good to see again those I haven't seen in years. It will also be my first reunion married to my DH. (DH = Darling Hubby in tech terms) Can't wait to "show him off." I'm so proud he's mine - I've been SO blessed.

    Tristan Getting a Sniff

Whenever the weather outside is nice and Tristan is in the kitchen we sometimes ask him if he wants a "sniff." He'll then proceed to the backdoor and want to go out onto the back porch. Here's a photo I took of him this afternoon with nose in the air. I think it came out really well. Ahhh, summer.

    Our Second Wedding Anniversary

Today we spent like we did last year ... one year ago to the day. It's the day before our 2nd wedding anniversary (on June 25th) and we went to Subway for dinner and to a movie. *chuckle* We had a chuckle at thinking that we hadn't been to the movie theater since last year, June 24th when we saw Cars. This year we went to see "Evan Almighty" and the first half was excellent - the second half, yawn. But it was still nice to go out on a "date."

    Happiest Wedding Anniversary, Sweetheart. *smooch*

As for the back - tomorrow (monday) I head to the Physical Therapist for the first consult and see where we go from here. The last specialist in Iowa City said that I did NOT need surgery but rather 3-6 months of intensive PT. *blink blink* And the saga continues....

    Tired of the Insurance "Game"

Well, if it were "Chutes and Ladders" I just slid back down the longest slide from square 87 down to 24 after breaking the cookie jar. (a few of you will get that old reference)

Simply put I am no longer having surgery with the doctor of choice, in the place of choice and the date I've had in my head for almost 2 weeks now. Instead I am traveling once again to specialist #5 because the last one wasn't in my network and so the surgery wouldn't be covered. And as I don't have a cool $60,000 laying around for a rainy day - we press on.

Trying hard to keep my chin up and moving on - but right now it's quite a test. Thank you all for your continued well wishes and prayers.

    A New Little Blessing

Got a phone call tonight from my best longtime friend to let me know that her little boy entered the world on monday happy and healthy. What a little blessing and I can't be happier for them. T and L will make wonderful parents.

Also, tonight I received word that the needleroll I stitched for someone in Australia arrived safe and sound so I can now post photos. I know I've said it before - but I love exchanges.

    A Biscornu In My MailBox

I came home from a long day at work to a beautiful biscornu (pin cushion) all the way from Sweden. I'll be posting images soon of the one I received as well as the one I sent to Singapore as it has gotten there safely as well. Nothing makes me happier then being able to stitch for others.

Right now I'm ping-ponging between my insurance company and my doctors but hopefully we can get things solved before the surgery in July. I hate how annoying playing the "leap through our hoops" game can get. Time will tell but I'm trying not to worry. Otherwise I have my really good days and then my not-so-good days. From days where I think for awhile "why am I doing this, I'm ok" to those days where I can't sit up in the morning and have to log roll out of bed and then walk around for awhile before I can get upright - it's those mornings that I am much more ready for this procedure.

In many ways I wish it was October and the bulk of the healing is over with. Until then I'm just hanging in there.
