    Wii

    We gotta Wii!

The new Nintendo game system... finally in our possession. These seem to be hard to get ahold of. You can bowl, box, play tennis and such by using the controller in your hands - not a keypad. Pretty darn cool! I've already had three co-workers ask when they can come over and play. =)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Btw ... finished this today. If anyone else who has read it wants to discuss (and knows my email addy) feel free. Personally, I didn't like the ending. *smirk*

    Dan is now reading it...

    Back With the Living!

I'm feeling 110% better. I'm still a little tired, back has returned to square one again with pain as I've been down so long - but my appetite is back and I feel like I can take on the world. I hadn't been that sick in years and wow, it really knocked me to my knees. I'll write more soon but wanted to thank EVERYONE who has kept me in their thoughts and prayers this past week.

    Long, Difficult Weekend

    Virus, bacterial .... lung?

Whatever reared it's ugly head this past week really, really set me back. I ended up in the Emergency Room last Friday night as well as last Sunday afternoon with hot/cold, trembling, severe fatigue, racing heart beats, cough and such. It was to the point that it really scared me - and I'm sure my DH and Mom were quite concerned as well.

Today was the first day I felt a bit more like myself again and even though I am still battling a cough, fatigue and a bit of dizzyness - what a difference. I'm hoping to be well enough soon to get back to work as I'm sure I'm getting further and further behind by the day. However, until I am strong enough to drive myself to work I'll have to wait - but hopefully soon.

    SPAMALOT

Last night Dan and I got to see SPAMALOT and I would highly suggest this show to anyone who loves live musicals. The lighting, staging and performaces were spot on and just wonderful. I liked the movie but hadn't seen it in a very long time - but could recognize most of the skits and could almost say the lines along with the actors. An awesome show.

    Monopoly

I did what I thought could not be done - I beat Dan last night at Monopoly. Ok, lots of luck played into it - but still very cool all the same. I think that's one of the best things about having a spouse - your best friend is almost always around. =)

It's getting steamy today. I only did an hour of garage sales today as I was getting warm and also my back and neck is a bit sore. So here I sit in the air conditioning and will ice my back here soon. At the sales today I found a couple good music CDs and books so it wasn't at all a loss. And on the way home I stopped and picked up some more sweet corn and fresh peaches. I love Iowa in the summer time.

    Christmas in July

I received my package today from Deb in Canada of a darling Santa Bear and have added the image to the EMS Gallery over there on the right. She did a beautiful job stitching it. Mine was also received by Kelly in TN and I had a lot of fun stitching for her. It is a poinsettia and then finished a mini needleroll. Now... on to stitching for the next exchange.

    Cough Update

Well, went in to the doc today and glad I did. She peeked in my ears and said she's suprised my ears haven't been popping alot. Well, now that you mention it... *smirk* She said I was just full of fluid in my ears, draining down my throat and my chest sounded icky as well. So now she is calling in some meds to fix me all up. Glad I went and wish I hadn't waited 10 days. *smirk*

    Silly Cough

After 10 days now of this cough I'm finally going in to have it checked out and hopefully get some sort of medication to kick it. Everytime I cough my low back just screams. BAH. Also, this afternoon I have "land" physical therapy. I dread PT but afterwards I find myself looking forward to heading back.

Other then that not much new in the news with us. Lawn got mowed, we had our first Iowa Sweet Corn this weekend, Dan beat me at Monopoly (now THAT'S a shocker, not) and Tristan got in some naptime.

    Thursday's Physical Therapy

On thursdays I have my aquatic therapy in the Mercy Hospital pool. We start out with just walking and thena series of about 12 different kinds of gentle stretches. At the end I get to put weights on my feet and use a float in the deep end ... and it streches out my back in a way I've been longing for for over a year. It's absolutely wonderful.

Today after the session I had "manipulation therapy." In my head I'm thinking "oh yea, a massage WOULD be nice..." This wasn't a massage. This was working out what felt at times like painful bubblewrap in my low back and buttock area. Yeoch! But hey, if it'll take away this pain I'm game for just about anything. Just hoping this works!

    Happy 4th of July

O say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air
    Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;

O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

God Bless our Country and watch over each member of the military and their families as we continue to work through this trying time in history. And let us not forget those who have gone before.

    Hack, Hack ... Wheeeeze

Last night was the night of my 15th High School Class Reunion. Dan went with me and it was great to see people I haven't seen in years. It sounded like most are doing really well and I'm surprised at how many have stayed in the area. I'll be posting photos in the future.

We did have to leave early due to the fact that I was losing my voice and my head was pounding. My cough was getting worse and I needed to get home and back to my cold medication. It was a really long night as everytime I had to cough I'd awaken. Bleh. Today I've slept off and on and drank alot of water and orange juice. Planning on getting to bed early tonight and hope my voice comes back by tomorrow. Right now I sound like a seal.
